Christopher Field

Driver, and  Soother of nerves - and horses

Christopher will be valiantly following us with Bach’s Rescue Remedy to hand – oh and a trailer full of feed, electric poles, rugs, first aid kits and all our overnight stuff! He says, “I used not to be a horsey person, but in the past year or so, thanks to the love my wife has for riding and her little horse, I have come to know and respect these riders and their horses. I believe the task they have set themselves is a significant challenge and might ‘blaze’ the way for future riders to enjoy some the wonderful riding Cornwall has to offer. I am sure both horses and riders are gong to find the journey difficult at some places, and since, I fully support the charities for whom they are fund-raising, I am also gong to support them as best as I can throughout their journey. My aims are to keep their moral high and tension low – and help keep their horses happy.”

Trudi Lowndes

Originally Trudi was going to ride with us, but then she decided to come along as back-up support with Christopher, which was very generous and much welcomed by all of us. Trudi owns two beautiful grey Arabs, a gelding called Kim and a mare which she bred herself called Zelah.  Trudi is a great advocate of Parelli and rides Zelah all over West Penwith’s moors in a bitless halter. Kim is only four and just beginning his life as a riding horse.

Our overnight livery host!

Sue Speed

Sue is a long-time and very successful Endurance rider who still competes her remarkable bay mare, Yakamin.  Sue and Yakimin have won  the Three Rivers, Salisbury Veteran Challenge 78km endurance race ride three years in a row - and she won the PF Challenge that was run across the three endurance race classes. Not bad for Yakamin at 18yo!  Sue is running the Minions ride on the same day as we are staying which says something for her stamina!
Vanessa Rescorl

We are staying on Vanessa’s farm for our overnight stop at St Wenn.   Peta-Jane was introduced to Vanessa by her cousin, Sonia Bennallick, who is a member of the Cornish Region of the Arab Horse Horse Society.
