Report on Renovations done by Cornwall Council to Bridleway Cardinham 12

This bridleway is a quarter of a mile long and runs from near Millpool up to the edge of Cardinham Moor.

It has been completey restored (2012), Three brand new hardwood bridleway gates have been installed at eith end and one in the middle.

The new surface is excellent, however in the absence of drainage path at the top, water run off from the moor has already washed out the top 50 metres of the new surface.

UNFORTUNATELY unless you are on a small pony on reaching the top of the bridleway you have to enjoy being the Grand old Duke of York and march back down again. The moor at the top of the bridleway is very difficult terrain with very low trees. Also horse riders have no recorded right of access on the moor. The moor is only Open Access for walkers.

It is a shame that the bridleway is currently of limited use for the average rider.

The photos below what a good job has been done on this bridleway, and see the last "before" picture!
